Kate's stage career began in 1982 at Plymouth Theatre Royal aged 12, where she performed in Alice Through the Looking Glass. At 22 she graduated in Drama and Theatre Arts from Middlesex University and Radford University, USA.

Since graduating her stage work has spanned Shakespearian Tragedy to Stand Up Comedy. Kate has most regularly performed live sketch, musical and character comedy and was a founding cast member of The Treason Show, a popular satirical sketch team, in which she was one of the lead performers and writers for five years of monthly sell out shows. She has also performed lead roles in critically acclaimed productions on the Edinburgh Fringe, and can this year be heard as Mrs. Strong in Count Arthur Strong The Musical.
